Default Brake Light Gremlin

I just pulled my Rubicon out of 6+ month storage and the brake/turn signal worked the 1st five mins of driving then I got the dreaded "quick turn signal" indication. I checked the brake light and sure enough, the driver side rear bulb didn't illuminate. I pulled the 3157 bulb out and and it did not look burned out. So I swapped the left and right bulbs and then they both worked. Then the suspect bulb (now on the passenger side) randomly stopped working. I pulled the bulb again, fiddled with the bulb's connectors thinking they may be loose and put it back in. Now it's working...for now. Weird huh? Any ideas on why that suspect bulb is intermittently failing? Regardless, I'll get a new bulb and wait until it starts acting up again and replace it. Thanks.

Could just be making a poor connection. Try cleaning up the base of the lamp. It's obviously not the socket.

Another thing to consider...
I have seen burned out bulbs where the filament would make contact and sort of weld itself back on for a short time. It would break again, make contact again, etc., etc., for more than a few times.

Thanks all. So far it hasn't acted up in the past days. Perhaps it was just a bad connection...
