Can I splice a set of Rigid D2's into my Hella wiring?
I currently have a set of Hella windshield mounted lights on my JKU, one of my questions is if I can remove the Hella's and splice a set of Rigid D2's into the wiring left behind or would that cause problems with the D2's? My thought was that since they are running such a low wattage I should be fine? Not that it's a pain to run new wires, I just figured I could save myself some time and save my dash from another hole for a switch being drilled in it. Same thing with the Smittybilt light mounts, I like them and how they sit low and wide I was curious if they would work okay?
Has anyone mounted a 4-6" set of Rigid lightbars in place where windshield mounted lights would normally be? If so, can you post some pictures? I'm trying to figure out if that would look weird or not. It seems like they wouldn't stick out any more than normal sized windshield mount lights, they would be lower profile but the diameter isn't any larger. Thanks for any advice or help.
On a side note, does anyone have any experience with the cheaper LED's on the market that are similar to what Rigid is offering? I know you get what you pay for but some of these lesser known light companies are doing a decent job of promoting their products.

I can only commend on the wiring. If you take the Hella's of and wire the Rigid's to the existing wires, you should be ok. For the rest of your questions, I have no idea. Sorry. Hope this help you.
Yes, you usually get what you pay for. The lesser known companies are definitely spending a lot of money on their marketing, but maybe not on their R&D. I guess if the lesser ones are cheap enough you can always start over.
Please post if you find another good LED light manufacturer!

Yes it helps, thanks. I'm not a wiring/electrical guru by any stretch and that kind of stuff worries me. I don't want to be the next JK on the side of the road burning because of something I screwed up.
I am going to be a guinea pig. Waiting on some ebay lights to make it in from India. The lights i ordered are quad XML lights and should be insanely bright. XML leds are the newest leds and push a lot light at even lower current and are the big thing in the flashlight industry. I have a tri XML flashlight and if these things push as much light as the flashlight then I am selling my lightforce 170's as they will be useless.
