Question CB install need info

HI all getting ready to install my CB radio into the new wrangler 07 was wondering where everyone is running the ant. wire, if you hook it near the licenses plate where would you bring the coaxial into the car or if I hook it on the tire carrier what happens with the door open.

I went with the CoolTechLLC CB antenna mount because it mounts on the top of the license plate bracket and the wire is entirely inside the vehicle. WHen you want to use the CB, it's just a quick quarter-turn to put it on the silver post!

Here's a picture from the CoolTechLLC web site:

(sorry I just discovered I don't have any of my installation  - need to fix that!

Have you installed it yet? I'm halfway done and I'm struck.

I installed it with a bracket on the stock license plate holder:

You can run the wire through the back of the license plate assembly and up through the back of the assembly. The wire will come out in the very back driver side corner where the hardtop meets the Jeep (just pull up the carpet covering a bit).

Only downside is that it leaves a bit of wire and the connection exposed but we'll see if that has any real negative side effects. Also if you do it my way you can avoid the large ugly hole by either using a larger drill bit or a dremel or by crimping your own coax cable.

Yes, I installed it.

How are you stuck????

I recognize that the instructions are kind of difficult, but I and another person eventually got through it!

Which step are you stuck on?

There are a few others who have used the Teraflex tire carrier mount and it looks like a very clean installation. The wires will run throught the holes already there for the high mounted tail light into the rear door and into the Jeep and you can run the rest of the wires down the inside passenger side to the dash... The rear door will work normally and you will not have to drill any holes...good luck..

OK, I figured it out and have it mounted on the license plate holder. I'll post some pics later. i have to be at work in less than 6 hours, so I don't have time now. My thanks to all who responded.
