Any chance the wires got pinched when you reinstalled the lid?

Make sure you didnt install backwards or pinch a wire.

Check your manual on how to calibrate the compass

Phones and other devices sitting in the tray will affect your compass. Check the connector... disco it and reconnect it for S&G's.

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! mine was stuck on SE for a week or two before i decided to check the manual. i calibrated to i dont know how many times. so there i am in a parking lot driving in circles looking like an idiot still with no luck so its working now but it displays N for S and E for W and so on. i thought about the issue of phones being near it or some kind of electronic device. nodda. so, i have a question, i did install fogs recently and ran the power and load wires up under the dash panel. would that have any affect on it?

This is 100% dead on...happened to us when we installed it and immediately threw our cell phone on the tray......doesn't the pic on the box show a cell phone in the tray? Anyway once you get it recalibrated remember you can't put phones, iPods, anything magnetic in the tray...sort of sucks cuz ours became purely for sunglasses
