Default Driving light install help

Hey gang! Just bought a set of KC hilites 6" apollo driving lights and need some help with wiring on my 2014 JK.

What I want to do is to wire the KC's so I can turn them on with the factory high beam switch but also be able to use my Rugged Ridge toggle switch to turn them on constantly when I'm on the trails.

I currently have my DRL's programmed to the fogs using the AEV Procal. Anyone know if this is even possible? A diagram would be great if this can be done!

Thanks in advance everyone!

Here's two options for dual control of lights including 3 way switch or diodes. Just replace reverse wiring with high beam wiring in the schematics. Here's some pics.

If I go with the diode option will I have any negative results with the CANBUS system?

You shouldn't. Diodes only allow DC current to flow in one direction, hence the arrows in the diagram. So while the OEM high beam wire can be the trigger, nothing should be backfed into the OEM high beam circuit. If the high beam wire is CANBUS, I don't know if it is, it could cause a flickering since CANBUS wires are PWM (pulse width modulation). I know the fog lights are, but have never heard the head lights or high beams are.

Thanks for info and diagram I really appreciate your help and input!

Any idea what amperage diode to use? I have some 6 amp diodes laying around from a previous project, will that be overkill?

The diode would have to be rated higher than the draw of the aux lights.

I have been working on a diode free version in this thread.

The final design I can up with is being tested this weekend. No diode required.

Again, just replace the OEM reverse wire with the OEM high beam wire.
