Default EL Lighting Vs. LED/Cathode For Interior Work

Has anyone run EL Wire for an interior light source as opposed to LED or cathode?

I've run LED before and it wasn't really the most amazing thing in the world. Cathode would be nice but I want a little bit of bulb flexibility and the cold cathode tubes are pretty large in comparison to EL.

I know all can be wired into the 12v source, but the C.C. and EL require an inverter box to be installed.

Well I think you've convinced me...I'm tired of losing stuff under my seats and in the foot wells.

Anyone have recommendations on what adhesive to use to get this wire to stick? It throws a 360deg light pattern so I'm either thinking small looped fasteners or maybe 3M has something?

Well since it is called "EL Wire", I would use plastic wire ties.
