Electrical Problem!! Help!!
I've got an 08 Sahara... I power washed the engine for only 2-4 seconds while it was running.. along with washing the jeep. Now I can't keep a fuse in that runs the dome lights and my 4ways! I put a fuse in, then open a door, and the fuse blows!! Doesn't matter what door... I've check my door connectors and I think most of my grounds under the hood and everything seems fine.. I need help guys!!! I've gone through $30 in fuses and can't figure it out!!

Take one of your blown fuses and bust away the plastic from the top part of the fuse so you can get at the two prongs that had the fuse element between them.
Next solder a couple lengths of small wire (#18 or #20) to the prongs. This may be tricky to do without melting the plastic, but you have lots of blown fuses to work with

Now solder the wires to a 12volt light bulb like an 1156 tail light bulb.
Plug your jury-rig setup into the fuse socket. It should light up full brightness when you open a door or whatever you do that blows the fuse. Leave everything so the bulb stays lit.
At this point, start working through the circuit to locate the short. When you interrupt the circuit with the short, your jury-rig light will go out or go dim. This should lead you to the problem.
This is an old trick that lets a trouble shooter find a short without blowing half a pound of fuses or starting a fire.

Free- will... Thanks but I'm not good with wires so there's no way I could do that. Lol!
JK- Ford... Thanks and I will look at the wires on the passenger side first thing in the morning!

You can purchase a 3 pack of individual led lamps for about $10 or so. And you can find a couple of alligator clips at most electrical supply stores. Just connect the wires to the clips. Exposé the blades on a blown fuse. Connect the clips. Just don't let the clips touch each other. This troubleshooting aid is priceless for an inexperienced person. It gives you a visual reference of what you are doing. Without this aid, you will need a meter. Or lots more fuses.
