Factory alarm and remote start
I'm bringing in the Jeep on Thursday to install a Compustar Pro alarm system and I'm having them disable the factory remote start and wire up the remote start with the compustar instead. I'm just wondering how the factory alarm and remote start are integrated into the 09 Jeeps, I mean are they each controlled off a different module or are both off on single module and if so, where are they located?
The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to have the installer pull out the factory module so I can sell it to partially compensate for the new alarm/starter install. Is there any possibilty here to what I'm thinking, or is it more complicated than just unpluging a couple of modules and pulling them out?

GO COMPUSTAR! I love these alarms. Had one of their first models, the 2000AS and have the 5000AS now. Anyways I am not sure how the factory one is installed. Mine is left in there and they said it will still work as normal, just :do not factory remote start with compustar armed" because the alarm would trigger.
With the new compustar see if they can run a neg pulse lead from the factory keyless entry. These new brains ahve an input there so you can use a factory keyfob to arm/disarm the compustar. I could really use that feature in the fall when I am shoulder deep in water duck hunting. Do not want a 150.00 remote in waiders that have sometimes take on water.
Anyways, sorry I do not know how the factory one is, but you will love the compustar.
