I have an 08 jeep Wrangler that has a factory bumper with fog lights , but they are not attached to the wiring harness. The harness that is in the area of the fog lights have no pigtails for the fog lights. The harness is just for the turn signals, and the parking lights. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I could do to make those factory lights work? So I just found connector hanging behind my drivers side, headlight it is connected to the headlight relay. Could this be an attachment for my fog lights? both wires appear to be purple, and one of the two wires has a blue stripe on it. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I can't be certain what that connector is, but your fog light wiring really should be plainly visible from under the vehicle, though you may want to remove the plastic skid plate for a better view (it's easy). I'm a bit confused by the fact that your marker lights are running down by your fog lamp housings. I have a 2010, so they should be pretty similar.

How long have you had the Jeep?
I’ve had the Jeep six months I’m not the original owner It has a repairable title. I was told someone hit a deer, so I’m assuming minimal damage was done. With that being said, I know it’s not the original grill because I can see under my paint and the colors don’t match, so that makes me wonder if they did not change the bumper out and this bumper has fog lights in it.
So I have dug a little deeper into this issue, I removed the plastic plate that is behind the front bumper on the top which allows me to see inside the bumper and yes I do see that wiring harness, but there are no pigtails there for fog lights. Earlier, you made the comment about the marker lights, that was an assumption on my part that they were tied into this wiring harness, but I am confident that this wiring harness is tied into my blinkers on the front. In other post, I have read that the wires that I may be looking for are white with an orange stripe. I have not looked inside the wiring harness to see if there are colored wires like that in there. I’m not overly enthused about getting into that wiring harness, cutting into it Applying spices with pigtails I just don’t think that is the best way to handle this situation. In my mind I would think that during a build when the harness is installed that they don’t have a harness for ever option more like a harness that can except options. Earlier you made the comment about the pigtail on top of the motor behind the headlamp for the alarm system I will give that Merit, but that goes back to what I was just saying about installing a harness and options are added throughout the build of the vehicle. So that’s what I was hoping to see when I looked inside the front bumper is a wiring harness with pigtails attached, but that was not the case. I hope that all makes sense.

Being as the Jeep hit a deer and likely suffered front end damage, you could be looking at a bumper with fog lamps attached to a Jeep that never had them before, or even a repair where the connectors for the fog lights were tucked away in a bad spot and never reattached. Does your turn signal arm have the fog light control on it? On my 2010 the end pulls out to turn on the fog lamps.
Either way, don't worry, there's plenty of info out there about how to integrate fog lamps onto a JK that came without them if it comes to that. For now though, I think it's best to just try to figure out if the Jeep had fog lamps prior to the deer impact.

Unfortunately the turn signal arm doesn’t have the fog light control on it. That’s why I also believe that that is not the bumper that came with the jeep.
