Default Front E locker issues

So I went and hit up smorr this weekend and I engaged my lockers on my 2011 rubicon. I did a few trails and I heard a popping noise coming from my front end. I disengaged my lockers and the popping noise stopped. I re-engaged them and the popping noise started again. So I'm thinking that it's coming from the front e locker. Has anyone had any issues with this? Or does anyone have any clue why this would happen?

I also just installed a Tom woods 1310 front drive shaft. Maybe this could be some help.

Hard to say without hearing it. It would be best if you had a friend drive it and look and listen.

Was the popping noise more like a ratcheting noise?
If so, the square teeth on the dog clutch may be slipping by, probably due to turning when the trail surface affords too much traction.
Once this happens, it will only get worse as the teeth get rounded over.

I'd pop the cover and take a look. Best case you just have to change the fluid. Worst case all your bits fall out.

Mine did this and the dealership had to replace the front locker. Thank God for the lifetime powertrain warranty. It was replaced free of charge. I asked him how much the factory e-locker costs and he said $950.00...... Then I asked him what caused it and he said it a unserviceable unit so we don't know.....

I will clear out my inbox now, if you still have info about it. Sorry it's been a long time since I have been on here!
