After exhausting a search I'm finally breaking down and asking the forum... I'm mounting PIAA 525's and I want to run the power wire from the switch to the M8 or M9 fuse slot with a fuse tap. Can anyone offer the knowledge and share what amperage of fuse I should be using for the tap(switch)? Any help greatly appreciated!

The fuse taps I have seen are rated for 10 amps; plenty to supply power to a relay for the lights.

See these threads for additional sources of switched power:

I will clarify that by saying I meant plenty to supply power to TRIGGER a relay for the lights.

So, instead of running a wire with an in-line fuse from the battery to the relay, this gives you the option of running a wire from the fuse box to the relay?

Do you still need to have an in-line fuse when running to the relay? Also, can this be used to trigger more than one relay? I'm about to wire a set of 4 lights on my windshield bar with 2 relays, but on one switch.... any way I can save on unnecessary extra wiring would be beneficial. My battery terminal is beginning to feel like a spiderweb with all these wires spewing out to my aux relays.

Thanks!
-Mike

EDIT: I think I just realized you mean the wire running from the switch to a 12v power source in order to flip the relay.

Yes. In the fuse box, you will be able to connect to a power supply that is only "HOT" when the key is in the accessory position. Or the Jeep is running.

Yes

Also, can this be used to trigger more than one relay
Yes. This circuit can power many relays. Pay attention to wire size!

Thanks for the great info as always!

Quick question... so is it "better" to tap into the fuse box for the 12v source for the toggle switch or for the power running to the relay(s)?

Fuse box power for switches - to treminal #85/86 on the relay
Battery power to terminal #30 on the relay.
