Default Gracenote Update

I am trying to update my gracenote DB and am having issues.
I burned the DVD naming the disc GN_1287. The disc contains the root directory GN1287 which contains the GNDB File Folder and the gnupdate file.
I got these files from the xxx.mofv.com MyGig site.

When I put the disc in with the Jeep running it says "reading" then just says "Data"...that's it. I don;t get the prompt to ask if I wanna update or anything.

I have a 2009 REN unit BTW.

Any thoughts?

I am having a similar problem, but I get a "Disc cannot be read" error message. So I have just skipped it for now.

When I updated the Gracenotes it took a long time to read as I recall it stayed on “Data” for 3-5 minutes then it took an hour to finish
I got mine from the same place as you did and burned it the same way.

Make sure you burn the dvd at the SLOWEST speed it will allow you either 4x or 8x.

I tried to burn it on Roxio but it wouldn't let me select the slower speed at all. Maybe I will Nero then. Or maybe I corrupted the file when I downloaded it originally. I will try it again.

Default Gracenote Update not working

I can't get the Gracenot update to work. I have killed 5 DVD R trying. I burned the last one at 2x speed and still got the DATA message. I let the DVD sit in there with that message for over 5 minutes and still wouldn't work. Iam pretty computer savy and cant figure out why this is not working. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
