Default H13 to H4 conversion?

I did a search but couldn't seem to find the answer.

will a H4 bulb plug in to our factory headlights without any modification?
also where can I get an adapter plug to go from H13 to H4?

They will not simply plug in but you can buy adapters that will allow you to run h4 bulbs. They simply just plug in the h13 sockets and then have an h4 socket on the other. This link will get you what you need:

Probably a dumb question, but why would you want to?

want to put in 75/65 H4 bulbs. brighter, and won't fry the factory harness.

its not about the bulbs

the OEM headlight housings are what the problem is.

That is correct, you'll also need H4 housings.... just get the IPF kit from Dave at Northridge.

After a corrosion / condesation issue with the stock headlights 3 months after receiving the JK last year, my dealer seems to have replaced with Hella H4, (thats what it says on the glass) and they are a tremendous improvment, in both in spread out light and full beam.

Is that price for a kit or just the housings?

Question:

I've seen H13 to H4 adapters for less than $10 bucks online.

I've seen Sylvania Silverstar 7" round sealed beam headlamps at local auto parts stores for $25 bucks each.

Why can't a guy buy a couple of adapters and a couple of off the shelf headlamps and just swap them right in? What is the catch?? The sealed beam units off the shelf would have to be better than what we have stock.

You think? They probably would have better reflectors/housings.
