Default Headlight Help!

Looking at getting new headlights for my JK, the stock ones just aren't bright enough. I'm not ready to step-up and fork out the money on aftermarket HID or LED lights yet. Visited a couple of auto part stores this week and narrowed my search to Sylvania ZXEs (~$65 a pair) or Sylvania Silverstar Ultras (~$50 a pair). Does anyone have any experience with either types? Any other suggestions? Don't want to spend too much, but I need more light!

Thanks in advance, standing by!

Guess, I should add that I want something that won't burnout too quickly. I've heard the ZXEs only last about 100 hours. Thanks!

I got a pair of Hella 002395801 E code lamps with 60/55 watt Hella bulbs included for $78.60 on Amazon. You need an adapter for them, so I found a KC HiLites pair for $19.71, there, so I was in for $98.31. I'd do that before buying some $60 bulbs to go back in the factory housings.

I ordered the Lifetime H13 LED bulbs $150. And there are DOT compliant

Much better than any halogen aftermarket they just plug and play. A buddy has the Trucklight LED and these are brighter and better light pattern. They are 5000k pure white light no blue tint 2000 / 2600 lumens brighter than the KC LEDs.

Confirm; are you claiming your Lifetime LED bulbs in the stock housing are better than the Truck Lite LED's?

I had the ZXE in jeep and honda, and all burned out after a couple months. Have ultras in the jeep now. Are slightly better then stock. Not as yellow but I wouldn't say "brighter". Maybe a tiny little bit brighter, but thats it. Cant wait to get LED. I want heated LED headlights. But wow everything is so much $$$.

Yes, the Lifetime LEDs are brighter and deliver a more uniform pattern than Truck and KC

I have the Sylvania ultra's,MUCH BETTER than stock, light output is good for a replacement bulb, bought them 4 months after I bought my 12 sport (oct 31 2011) and haven't had to replace yet still going

I went with an HID kit.....very simple and not too expensive. They make kits that are just for a low beam and others that are Hi/Lo beams.....thats what I ended up with. Cost about $70 on eBay when I bough them. They are cheaper now as they range anywhere from $30-$85 shipped, depends on vendor.

High recommend except that I am lifted and they are bright as hell!!!! usually pisses people off.

I got the 6000 Kelvin version...which gives a bright intense white (slightly Blue) light. Resembles Mercedes Benz, BMW, and other vehicles that come with factory HID Lights.

Very easy, plug and play. search eBay for "H13 hid conversion" I would pay the extra bucks to get the Bi Xenon Hi/Lo kit!

Lol. Any pictures to confirm this, as the light spread from the factory housing is horrible.
