Headlight upgrade options..
I did the Sylvania SilverVision bulb upgrade and the results, relative to my expectations were... meh.
I am looking for a cleaner pattern and increased output along with more options/choices for bulbs. Ease of installation is important but no critical...this is a headlight upgrade not motor swap..:thumbsup: I see two possible upgrade options that are within my budget.. Delta Industries 7” Round Quad Bar Headlight Kit, Xenon Hyper White - about $100.. they include city light options which I have in the past and like. IPF 920H4 JK Headlight Kit - about $149 or so Both use readily available H4 bulbs; glass lenses and upgraded output. Both are plug and play. I've read the IPF's might have a hotter color temp (bluer) which might not be to my liking and could require another set of bulbs, but they appear to be a closer visual match to the Pilot fogs I installed. There a write-up here on the Project-JK for the IPF setup which praise it but no formal reviews of the Delta kit. Feedback from those of you have have or have had either or both kits is greatly appreciated.. |

I've been reading all the threads about this and, based on my personal experience with the Sylvania brand, I am staying away from using those bulbs.
So far I've been using the original ones and got some driving lights to complement that I plan to install soon. Also read about the IPF replacement lenses for the original but I understood they use the Sylvania bulbs so crossed them out. |
For about 8 months now I've been running the IPF conversion with the blue bulbs as those were the only ones available at the time. So far I have loved them. They offer quite a bit more lighting than the stock headlights do. With the blue bulb a lot of people say that they sorta look too ricer but in all honesty I think these are the perfect white. Any beamer/mercedes projector headlight is more blue than these are.

X2 on this. I got mine when they first came out. I really like them and they were simple to install. A lot of guys of made comments on night runs that my lights are much brighter than theirs. lol |

Don't the IPF's use a standard H4 bulb? You should be able to change them to any temp you want. |
My Jeep runs the Hella H4 with HID.
My Girl's Jeep runs the IPF H4 with blue bulbs. My dad runs stockers with Philips Xtreme power +80%. Let's omit my jeep due to me running HIDs in reflectors which is not exactly something to run in the city. The IPFs are a great lens and provide a beautiful high beam pattern. The Hella H4s have a wider low beam pattern. Stockers are well... stockers - just aim them down just a tiny bit. If you have money to spend - get the rallylights.com E-Code conversion with the harness and run some Osram Hyper or preferably the Philips Xtreme power bulbs. You will have a great light pattern with the power to boot. If you just want to swap the stock bulbs, get some Philips Xtreme power +80% bulbs. The low beam is way better, but the high beam is slightly better than OEM. |
Run the Philips Extreme bulbs in the IPF upgrade housings, and you won't be disappointed.

I googled them and the first four entries are from the honda forums.. I'm just sayin..... Still undecided... |
