Default Help with audio wiring

Hey, I hooked up an aftermarket CD player in my JK. I connected the Ground and the Battery Terminal but when I go to turn it on, it won't turn on. Only thing works is the Eject and that is the only time I see everything in the CD player turn on. What am I doing wrong?? I searched and searched, couldn't find anything! Also, the guy at Circuit City told me I was to wire the "Accessory" wire but wouldn't tell me where. "They're not supposed to give out that information" as he said. If anyone installed an aftermarket HU, please help. Thank you.

need more input!!!!

you're not making any sense man. Give us a little more information.

what i'm decyphering from your text is that you have a new HU in your dash, and you have it hooked up to just the power and ground. Did you hook up your HU directly to the battery???

Sounds like the CC guys were talking about the VSS wire? Not sure.

Just explain what you have, what you're trying to do, where you are in doing it, and what exactly is the problem. Thoroughness would help in diagnosing this...

OK. It's simple... I only hooked up the + and the ground wires of my HU to my JK. But all it did was eject. (that was the only function) There is a wire that says "ACCESSORIES" on my HU. Where do I connect that wire to in the JK?

Weird. Accessories? What HU is it? I'll look up the manual and see if I can help you figure it out.

Jackmac, it was a JVC....I returned it...maybe I need to go get it back again. LOL But BeerMonkey hit the right spot. I was thinking, that's what I did on my last car but forgot, it was about 2 years ago. But yes, it's the red wire.

But, if I hook it up to the lighter, which I think is on all the time because I can plug in my phone charger, it'll light up. Does that mean that the radio will be on all the time as well???

not if you use the 12v plug closest to the driver.. thats a switched plug, the one on the pass side is constant power.
