Help with stock infinity sub with new speakers using Nitro amp.
This is my situation. I have the infinity system and I installed the Nitro/Liberty amp in place of the stock wrangler one. I then replaced my stock speakers with Polk Audio db651s in all four locations. Now for some reason after I replaced my speakers, the volume on the sub is cut in half. It is no longer as punchy as it was before the speaker swap. How can just changing speakers drop the volume on my stock sub using the same amp? The speakers are 4ohm but that should not have anything to do with the sub as they are on different channels. Please help.

Have you checked your EQ settings?

One thing to keep in mind is that most of the bass response from our Jeeps comes from the dash woofers. When you went to 4ohm speakers, you cut the power in half to those speakers...thats why it sounds weaker.
The sub operation is unaffected. The IC chips that power the amp are each 4 independent channels....the front tweeters get two, the front woofers get two, the soundbar gets two, and two go to the sub. Ohm loading on the other channels wont affect the output power of the sub.
Sorry...get thee some 2ohm speakers and youre back in business

I think aero_instability has hit it on the head. I never thought of that when I swapped. I wanted to just change the sound bar but I got the second pair half off. I will put the stock speakers back in and I will report back with my findings. Let's just hope I don't have to put all original back in. Maybe I might have to but I will see.
Well I swapped all speakers out back to stock and it works as it did at full volume. The 2 ohm to 4 ohm was the culprit. An interesting side note to people who do add better speakers that get louder, expect to hear more rattles. Even though the sub was lower, the sound was louder and clearer. But that made the panels around the speakers buzz and rattle. Just when I got rid of 90% of my noises, the speakers made more. So I am back to stock. I am wondering if putting in the Nitro/Liberty amp was such a good idea. I over improved the sound to the point of going backwards, if thats even possible.
Thank you for all your help.
