Put them into a raised vehicle and it is only multiplied.
I used to run around with a bunch of guys in s2000's in Houston, yes they have VERY good projectors. Actually the projectors are brighter then the hot spots on the reflectors. Projectors actually put out MORE light then reflectors, they do a much better job at dispursing the light evenly, vs trying to focus a beam as a reflector does and scatter enough light to be able to see latterally on the road. Think of a mag light..you can adjust to be a spot light or a flood light. Headlights try to limit the vertical beam travel. Jeep reflectors are pretty poorly designed by have limited scatter due to no diffusers (ridges) on the front of the housing.

I would not suggest putting HID's in the stock reflector assembly. Although they don't scatter light that bad (compared to some of the pics i've seen on the web), they still leak light above the cutoff line more than halogen. The above's projector setup is mine, and they're up for sale because I made another set. Contact me if you're interested.

Now, to really answer your question, make sure you're using a relay setup. You need to add a capacitor to your harness to keep a constant current to the relay.

I commend you for doing it right. FX-r? You got them from the retrofit site?

If you use HIDs, go with a proper retrofit please. I get sick of being blinded by cheap reflector housings holding HID bulbs.

On my WRX I modded my stock reflector cutoff shields and it produced a sharp cut off, but poor optics. Then I went to S2000 projectors and WOW!

And speaking from personal experience, I refuse to use bi-xenon "moving capsule" HIDs since they always crap out on me...

The aftermarket Hi/Lo kits tend to wear out quickly in terms of the little moving 'shield' to give you that bi-xenon type experience.

That's what I was referring to... And I did those on my Cherokee and they crapped out in 1 month. Warranty was honored and then it crapped out 2 months later and I was like screw it and went back to halogen. Also - HID doesn't melt the snow we get here off of the headlights.

If it is an OEM moving sheild like a moving mirror, then fine.

Snow what's that? We are bracing for our 3 days of Winter comeing this week. 3 whole days where it might dip into freezing each night!

I've had the VVME HID H13 kit for 3 months without any issues.
My stock headlight housings suck but I have not been flashed and the light pattern is the same as stock, just brighter.
I am going to swap to a better housing (Hella or Cibie H4 housing) and see how that works.
