Alright guys, I'm posting in this thread for a friend. I know nothing about jeeps, though I have installed HIDs before. His jeep is a 2007 wrangler x 4-door and he wants to upgrade to HIDs. He goes off-road once in a while, so I understand that waterproof ballasts are a must. I also understand that jeeps needs some special type of resistor (or some other component) wired inline to stop flickering.

To those that have upgraded, what is a nice and reliable waterproof kit? Bulb type and size? Any flickering issues? If so, what exactly did you use to stop it and where did you get it?

im about to order some from bajadesigns.com
they have the offroad light with ballasts built into them, their pricey ($350 a light) but thats about what your going to pay anyways

 

$350 per light sounds awfully pricey...I'm not looking to totally replace the housing, only the bulb. I did an HID kit like this on my last car. I picked up a kit on eBay for around $130, and the kit was of decent quality; plug and play.

I am looking with one similar that has ballasts that are waterproof and just wanting to know what exactly to do about the buzzing people are experiencing.
