OK, I'm thinking of going with DDM the 6000K 55W Hi/Lo kit for the headlights and the 5000K kit for the fogs, considering they're plug and play and wicked cheap.

Anybody out there against this, or have a better solution?

Any updates on these kits? Have you had any problems with the headlights? Any issues with the fog housings melting?

I'm looking at installing the 55w HIDs in the headlights but not sure what to put in the fog lights yet. I would like to keep the stock housings.

Hopefully I receive some feedback.

Thanks!

I would go with the 35 watt kit for the headlamps. Any search on here will show you that I am very pro HID, but the 55w is just plain too much light. Works great on rural roads - but if you do most of your driving in the city, get the 35 watt kit.

The 55w is not overly obnoxious, and I have passed at least a THOUSAND police officers with my 55w kit ON (as in at night) and not a one has had a problem with them. 99% of the time, people do not flash either.

But 55w is just too much light for every day. To do it again, I would probably go for the 35 watt on the main lamps, 55w on the fogs, and a 100w kit on the off roads. Now I have 55w all over.

Absolutely not.

HID by wattage produce LESS heat than incandescent - they take the heat and make it light.

I have heard of HID melting housings, of ALL those stories I have heard it was a 55w HID installed in a 25-35 watt housing.

My brother had issues, but it was the same overpowered lamp story.

I have run my HID, both stock and fog, for hundreds of hours - no issue.

Stay rational, and you will be fine.

Thanks! I'll look into ordering the 35w HIDs for the fogs then.

Okay, so I'm being told that the 35w HIDs will NOT melt the fog housings, yet there is proof that they DO melt the housings.

So I guess I'll look at other options for the fog lights.
