Default Hidden Sub

Hey all,
Just thought I'd post pics of my subwoofer install. I'm no audiophile, I just wanted to round out the sound in the Jeep. I mostly listen to rock and country so I didn't need ghetto blaster turbo bass. I talked to Crutchfield and they recommended the low profile Sound Ordnance B-8PT. It's a very small 8" sub with built-in 120 Watt RMS (250 peak) amplifier. For $200, I thought I'd give it a shot.
The toughest part was trying to figure out where to mount it. I really didn't want to mount it on the floor in case it rained, so the only other spot I could figure was in the back seat. I didn't want to cut the seat up, so I decided to see if I could just slide it inside, keeping in concealed.
Long story short, it works! I've been running it for a month now, top up, top down, rain, excessive heat, and it still sounds awesome. I also like how it has a level remote so I can easily turn the bass up or down depending on what song I'm listening to. Girls really enjoy riding in the back seat for some reason now, haha.

Very nice. I've never seen an amp/sub combo quite like that. Would've worked to put it in the rear storage area maybe with a custom hard grille into the lid.

I'll post pics of my setup soon. I have a low profile Pioneer 8" mounted in a surplus decon can (like a gerry can).

I didn't put in the storage area because it collects water. I didn't put in my back window the other day and it's full of water. The back of the seat was almost bone dry though.

Do you have a stock jeep radio (basic) ? If so how did you connect it? Did you use an LOC to connect?

I have an aftermarket head unit, a JVC-HDR60. It's a got a pre-out for a sub, and another pre-out for a different speaker set.

Did you consider mounting it under one of the front seats? Or is it too large?
