I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone with first hand experience. This model is only a year old, and mygig's have only been coming in since about march in mass...so the fact you found a mygig in a salvage vehicle is amazing in of itself.

To my knowledge, you're right on. Plug and play..you'll just need the sirius and gps antennas kits. I'd grab it..because even if you don't have the parts, I'm sure you can get them. Nice find.

i remember reading a post in here about someone who bought their mygig from e-bay, then after receiving it, they found out it was one that had been stolen. i think they received an e-mail from the seller and from e-bay explaining that it had been stolen, then sold to him.
anyway...the person tried to install the mygig and it wouldn't work - something about a security feature that prevented the mygig from working with the new vehicle.
it this was true, then it must be something only built-into the mygig's that came straight from the factory. i bought an aftermarket mygig from e-bay and put it in my rubi and it works.
so, i don't really know an exact answer to your question, just what i have read on here, but you might be able to search and find the post that i mentioned about someone buying a mygig that had been stolen from e-bay. you could probably do a search for "mygig ebay" and find it.
but, if they will work (no security registration in them) they are simple to install - just six screws and four plugs. it takes about ten minutes.

Can't you just take the GPS and Sirius antennas off the same rig?

Yes, I remember that too...probably have to get something done at the dealer in way of programming to "authorize" the unit. But that should be no big deal. As long as you're getting the mygig legit, I wouldn't see why you couldn't make it work.

I replaced my cd player in my acura mdx and needed a code for it. went to the dealer and they typed it in. very easy.

Call the manufacturer of the MyGig and ask. Send an email to CSRs on the webpage. This is probably not the best place to ask if you are afraid to spend mucho bucks on a brick(if it doesn't work).
