Default Interior Lighting Project

Hi again everyone.

I have some questions i was hoping someone could answer. I want to do a custom light job inside my car. The color would be green, I dont know why specifically but I feel green looks very stealthy and clean at night. I already know how to do footwells and I am just saving up the money for all my lights and components Ill need. I also want to El-wire my dash and connect that with the cabin light (the one on the top interior of the jeep), is such a feat possible or is the power supply to small to power even El-wire (which has a relatively low voltage)? Also do they sell colored covers for the top interior light or colored replacement bulbs in green? If not what should I do to achieve the green affect without losing to much of the brightness? Is all of this even possible without major electrical upgrades?

Thanks for your patience! I'm kind of dependent on you guys for help on this matter.

I have led's in the footwell tapped off the dome light. Open the wire channel on the floor on the passenger side and tap into the yellow wire with the white stripe. I've seen colored replacement dome lights at the local parts store. If not try superbright led's website. What's el wire?

K I just looked up el wire. Cool stuff. How much power does it pull? Does it need a special power supply?

Thanks Boneshkr they do have some pretty interesting stuffI already know where I'm going to get my footwells and halo lights, I'm really more interested in the green interior overhead/dome light. So again does anybody know where i can find a green colored over head and will el wire work if connected to the overhead?

Yeah I had no clue what it was and then a friend showed me his el wire shoe laces. BLEW MY FRIGGIN MIND. I think 1 amp/800ft is the draw....

The el wire draws less than led's so you can put them on the dome light no problem.

Connect the positive to that yellow with the white stripe, and take the ground to the chassis. Look around the footwell and you should find an existing ground point. I'm assuming your buying a kit with a ballast.
