Default IPF H4 conversion

I just dis the Silvervision bulbs in the stock housings and they are not what I expected.

Any difference between the IPF H4 kit offered by Quadratec and the offered by Northridge other than $30 price tag?

Also, a set of Silvervision H4's are $39. Add to this the Quadratec kit that is the IPF housing and harnesses for $69 and you're good to go... What am I missing? $110 versus $149 versus $179....$110 wins.

Its because the bulbs you get with the $149.00 conversion are like $70.00 some dollars instead of $39.00...just my 2cents.

Here is th difference....

Thanks, I should have updated this post a few weeks back.

I ended up doing the IPF housings with Philips X-TREME POWER 9003/HB2/H4 bulbs. The bulbs that came with the IPF's are a bit too cool (blue) for my taste and all I have read about the Philips pointed to them being a good choice.

As it turns out, the Philips are about 70% brighter than the Sylvania's (I used an incidental light meter to measure the output.. in photographic terms they are a little more than 2/3's of a stop brighter.. one stop equals double the light). The install was cake. No different than changing a bulb. The pattern is quite sharp and is reminiscent of euro e-code Xenons with a sharp cut off on the left and high eyebrow on the right side away from on coming traffic.

They are a great match to the Pilot fogs I installed, as far as output and pattern .

I do have concern for the crystal lens and will be applying X-Pel to it to protect them.

Interestingly, once the Sylvania's were in, it seemed I had no problems with blinding oncoming traffic.. I never aligned the stock lights after the lift. Once the IPF/Philips went in I was blinding everyone in front of me. IAfter measuring them, it was obvious they were adjusted too high. Not sure if it was how poor OE housings and weak the OE bulbs are or the IPF housing and Philips are that much better.. but the change was dramatic and measurable....

Sweet part is that I scored the IPF's from a forum member here.. for far less than they would have been from any of the vendors and were in near NIB condition.

The factory lights are aimed too high. I had mine adjusted down before I installed the IPF lights and I don't get flashed when driving down the road.

I just installed the arb/ipf h4 conversion tonight. I paid too much, but I'm happy with the results. Like everyone else, the beams are too high.
Now I need matching fogs....
