I bought a pair of the IPF 968 and windshield mounts the other day, I have everything run except one of the yellow lines that supposed to splice in with the headlights, but i don't want to do this.

Can i go into an empty fuse location, and if i do that, do I just buy a 5 amp fuse and wrap the line around the blade?

Is it OK to wrap the relay with electrical tape?

 

I ran mine with the other wire directly to my battery. I have not had any problems. I actually did a search on here when I was installing mine and found where others had done the same thing. My lights will come on at any time now and are not tied in with my head lights.
