the jeep dealership said what?
Amen!
If you have the Stock MyGig \ Infinity setup you will be happy.
Besides I don't care how hard you try the Stereo can always be EASILY stolen out of a Jeep. (Once someone hears you playing it loud your a instant target) A lift can NOT be easily stolen! Get the lift and tires and go out and use the Jeep for what it was designed for. You will very happy you made that decision.

Personally, i bought an infinity basslink from best buy and it really impressed me with what it did concerning the stock stereo. Sounds better than any "premium sound" i've ever heard. (besides the shaker 500/1000 in the mustangs)
So i would vote tires and throw in a sub.

thanks so much for all the replies!
I opted out of the infinity system because im putting in a new sound system eventually.
Maybe I will do the tires first then... Im an audio freak like I said and i know the jeep creates one of the worst listening environments but i can make it a whole lot better still
The system im putting in im not to worried about being stolen I live in a very nice neighborhood and dont plan on taking any trips out to much maybe to downtown chicago but roof and doors would be on. The system im putting in would have a 500$ alpine amp bolted under the driver seat so no water and hopefully thief could get at it. The head unit I believe is a kenwood little over a grand. the speakers are all the nicest infinity speakers you can buy and the subwoofer is a 10 alpine with a custom box so it takes up less space but still sounds great. Its over 3000$ system but I got an incredible deal on it from a buddy of mine.
So what im saying is I guess this system shouldn't be compared to stock. I hear what you guys are saying and maybe then the stock can hold me over till I have the money to do the sound system(hopefully by summer)
Any one have anything to say about what the guy at the stealership had to say? And should I be concerned at all about the new stereo messing up the Jeeps computer?
thanks

The new sound system will have nothing to do with how it runs, it will not affect the PCM in the Jeep. If that was the salesman speaking then just chalk it up to typical salesman, if that came from the service department find a new dealer to take your Jeep to for service.
Dont worry guys im going to be wheeling the sh** out of it just not right away. Wranglers are very capable stock too but the big stuff needs a little armor...and wheels...and winch...and a lot of $$$ I just dont have all that yet
Here's my modded audio system....installed myself. It's a blend of OEM and aftermarket components. If you have any questions on how the audio system works or what needs to be done, to have yours installed.....feel free to ask.
Maybe it's just me...but this is by far the most QUIET soft-top wrangler i've ever driven. It honestly is no louder than my 2003 hardtop was. I can hear my stereo just fine crusing on the highway at 80mph.
That being said, $2600 for a new stereo system is a little steep. I just ordered a new pioneer 7" touchscreen HU, sirius adapter, ipod adapter, and new speakers all theway around for $750. Add in $350 for that Alpine amp off ebay, and that leaves you almost $1600 for a new sub/sub box. That better be one hell of a sub enclosure! :p
