KC lights and windshield brackets

I have looked at lots of pictures on windshield lights and brackets on here. From what i can see, i would like to get the KC slimlights 6'' longrange. It looks like with the kc brackets, it would not interfere with the antenna. But what about the smittybilt bracket, i like the idea of tuck out of the way, but can't really find info on if it will hit the antenna. Does anyone run this setup or even have a picture of the passenger side

I have this setup with the KC brackets and it doesn't hit the antenna. I don't think I have seen the Smittybilt brackets.

I looked up the brackets on the Smittybilt website.

It looks like it WOULD hit the antenna. Hard to say for sure.

Hey I also run the kc brackets and I love them. I've heard a lot about people bending their antenna to get around the light. With the kc's, you don't lose very much visibility either. Also, the kc ones don't give you the Micky mouse ears effect. Good luck buddy :D

I just installed those lights with Mopar brackets and they would hit the antenna had I not used a 8" stubby antenna which I absolutley love!

The Smittybuilt brackets are the same as the Mopar brackets. The antenna will hit the light with either. So you would need to bend the antenna, or cut it down, or use the little bracket to hold it out of the way(this comes with the mopar bracket, unsure if Smitty includes it), or replace the antenna with a shorter or electronic version, etc.

I have BIG lights (8" KC's) on my Mopar brackets and I use a shorty antenna. It does limit the reception range somewhat, but I dont much care about radio reception anyways as I usually have a CD or my wife uses her iPod.

Because of the larger lights I prefer the down and out mounting of the Smitty/Mopar style brackets.

Yes, the antenna will hit. I have the Mopars which are the same and run them with 6" Slimlites. Here's the result:

You'll either need to bend the antenna or do what I've done and order a stubby antenna that will not reach the light. When I was looking at brackets I was warned away from the KS brackets by several previous users who said they weren't great quality or build. I can't say for sure as I didn't go with them but thought I'd just give you the info I received from guys I trust.

I have KC brackets with Daylighters only hits occasionally off road. Put some shrink tube on the antenna, still hits but no damage.
