Light Bar
I wanna get a good light bar for my jeep, without breaking the bank. Right now I'm looking at Rugged Ridge's new light bar, as shown here:
http://www.autotrucktoys.com/jeep/im...MX11232.21.jpg What do you guys think? Any other suggestions? I think the Rugged Ridge bar seems like a good bang for the buck, as I've found it online for about $190. |
i'm still deciding if a light bar is going on my list of mods (may get cargo rack and mount lights on it) but if so, this would be my 1st choice without having read any reviews. I especially like the way it is mounted, it works with their other products, and now rumor that they (rugged ridge) may design a cargo rack to integrate it with.

are you including shipping in your estimate of $190? Quadratec has it for $179
|
no, wasn't including shipping, but that's good to know. Cheaper is better afterall.

I have the CARR Rota light bar and it was $150. Pretty easy install.

I almost forgot, the main reason I liked the CARR light bar was how it attached to the Jeep. I have the RR mirror relocation brackets and the windshield mounted lights, the bar uses only two of the windshield screws, all the rest used more, if not all, including the Rugged Ridge one.
|
I prefer the KMA bar. It is a bit more than the RR one, but it is made in the USA which explains most of the price difference. Also the tube for the lights is one solid piece, so you have less places for moisture to get in and rust it out, where RR has the tube attach about half way up on each side.
|
Shouldn't all of the light bars be aluminum? Steel/metal composite that can oxidize seems fairly heavy to be mounting to the windshield bolts...
|
That's why the CARR Rota bar says the max weight is only 4 lbs. After the install however I have no doubts the bolts will hold.

I'm interested in the mbrp light bar, however I'm concerned about being able to install an aev snorkle. Does anyone know if there are space conflicts with light bars with the aev snorkle and if so, what lightbar is the most snorkle friendly? That rugged ridge looks cool too and I like the price, but will it work with window light mounts(and snorkle)? :dontknow2:
