Default Lighting Tech: Spot vs. Flood vs. Combo Beam Patterns

Ever look at a light description and see that it’s defined as a spot-beam pattern? Have you ever picked up one of those huge off-road lights and seen it described as a flood-beam pattern? How about those LED light bars and their “combo beam” pattern? What does all of that mean and how do you know what you're getting? In this article, we'll take a brief look into those beams and how they can be utilized.

If you are getting a cheap led bar I recommend all spot. If you can get the person selling to give you the degrees in which the reflectors reflect light, that's the easiest way to answer your question. Some spot beams are 30 deg. Some are 19. Some floods are 90 and some are 50.
