I have the Hella Black Magic's and have to say they are not bright at all. I even went as far as changing the the light bulbs to 100w from the 55w for the 1000's and they are a little better.
I get tons of compliments, I really don't like the light output.
If you read the descriptions on both they are DOT approved DRIVING LIGHTS. most brighter light say not approved for highway or OFFROAD USE ONLY.

But just An idea I did find an HID conversion kit that states it will work. so i might be going that route.

Hella 4000's, choose either driving or Euro beam. On the trail, it's slower so I have the cornering beam which is more of a floodlight with a 130w bulb. All steel construction and very sturdy mount.

i was looking at that too...but light bar plus 5 hid rr lights would be about $900!

I bought the Lightforce lights. Kind of expensive but they sure light up the night. You can focus them like a Maglight too.

I installed the Black Magic 500's on my windshield and they are not a bright as I anticipated, however they make a difference. I don't know if I'd choose these again though; unlike the KC's i've had in the past, you cannot replace the lense if damaged, you have to replace the entire assembly. With the 1000's it's not as big of a problem because they're offered individually, the 500's are only sold in pairs. All in all they were he easiest install i've ever done, and I'm content for now. I'll post a pic with the lights on.

I am going to run kc rally 800 on my front bumper. I have yet to decide about my rr lightbar yet. If I feel very generous to myself at the moment I purchase it. I will get 5 rr hid lights. If not I will do a combo of kc driving and long range lights

If you are going to use anything bigger than 55w I wouldn't waist your time with the factory fog light kit my jeep wouldn't handle the extra amperage that was drawn from the lights, plus that switch turns off the fogs when the high beam is on. I think you would be better off with a separate switch/relay after market kit

Four Lightforce 170's on roof rack. It becomes daylight in front of these for a few hundred yards
