I'm sure that those fittings are obtainable. After all, sombody made them. I've seen military style fittings used in industrial plants. But that would be way to much effort for me.

I too have the military plugs... anyone know what wire is what?

labled 17, 18, and 91...

The low beams... do they only light up half the LEDs? I was playing with my 12v inverter and it seems 17 lights up all the lights. where as 18 only lights up the top half

you can make them work pretty easy by cutting them off, just make sure you butt connect with a water tight shrink connector.
Bummer you got the wrong connectors.
