Default Looking for iPhone ideas

I have an iPhone 5 with an otter box. I've seen the people who have placed it on the roll bar with the belt clip and I want to do something similar, only keep it in sight because I may want to add some sort of OBDII tool to my phone/jeep. Has anyone done this, without buying additional accessories?

It's directly in my view so I don't have to take my eyes off the road and its within reach if I need to push a button.

It's the vector offroad e-dock with ram-mount for iPhones. You can add any kind of ram-mount you want. I also have one for my digital camera so I can record video on the trail. I might be mounting my CB there as well.

Here's what I did for now: ziptied the belt clip to the vent. Will probably need to block airflow to that vent come winter time. Click image for larger version

If you were willing to put it in the dash, Daystar has an upper dash tray that has a ball mount for a GPS but can be used for a phone as well.

I have the same RAM mount to hold the phone, but I used the Versa Mount 2, drilled out 4 holes and mounted the RAM ball base onto it.

Cool Tech LLC. JK VersaMount 2

The metal is a little thin, and it wobbled a bit but I bought a small black rubber cork and placed it in between the dash and the versa mount, and no more wobbling (and its not really noticeable either).

RAM mount FTW.

I put my iPhone 5 in the cup holder. Works wonders.
Try it, you'll like it.

Throw the darn thing out the window. You'll be happier. Cheers.
