M27 ignition fuse keeps blowing
So this last friday, my jeep started up fine 3 times and the third time was a trip into town, about 10 miles. I parked, go into the store and about 50 minutes later the Jeep wouldn't start.
Turns out the ignition switch/window module fuse keeps blowing. It seems i can get one good start and drive and then i have to replace it again. Maintenance/etc leading to this event: - jeep sat for about 8-9 days - the next day it ran 100% all around for errands - then I installed 1 ton steering, a stabilizer and drag link short inner end. - adjusted alignment and steering - the next morning I installed the doors after a few months and washed it (it was on and off 3 times then) - then test drove into town for steering n such - then fuse M27 was blown. And it keeps blowing, but I cant find any diagrams for all the wiring involved in this fuse/system or where i can troubleshoot grounds and such. |
I have an M-38 that blows and when I put a new one in my washer fluid just starts spraying. Door locks don't work either anymore.
Was told it's a bad TIPM module. Maybe look into that with your issue? Hopefully it isn't. It's like a $700 repair. YouTube videos show people doing it without dealer programming. |

Well if it is the tipm it should be covered. Most 07-08 jks have a recall on their tipm.
Can you provide more details? |

I tried to find the TIPM recall you mention. No luck. Can you provide more details?
Not sure if that's exactly your issue since something could be crossing and causing the fuss to blow. Mine takes it one step further to the TIPM than you have. |

Yea I'm an 08 and I have lifetime powertrain. There isn't a recall that I know of. That's why I haven't gotten it fixed. Not sure if that's exactly your issue since something could be crossing and causing the fuss to blow. Mine takes it one step further to the TIPM than you have.
Thats for antitheft and key fob recognition. Engine no start or crank and can affect doors n such. I have the tsb for the TIPM on my table at home. Ill have to get back to ya later with that one. |

No mention of a recall or free replacement beyond the regular vehicle warranty in TSB (08-007-08). Please post the TIPM TSB info when you can.

Speaking of recalls, ive gotten these two in the mail recently. I havent brought it in yet bc i am lazy. But it sounds only like when they receive the parts or if my airbag light comes on. 07-10 and 07-12 wranglers apply to these.
