So I hopped in the ole (new)Jeep yesterday evening to head out for a bite to eat. After engaging the unlock on the keyless I noticed I did not hear the usual clicking of the door locks
, thinking nothing of it becasue I assumed I left the door open I put the key in the ingnition and turn and nothing
. I automaticly assume a dead battery but realize I had not left the lights on or the doors open??
I get out, grab some jumper cables, and begin the process. Before I had the other car hooked up out of curiosity I try to lock the doors with the keyless once again, it works
. So I get in turn the igntion and it starts.
It seemed as if as I turned the igntion it caught on somthing in the mechanism, If I turned it all the way it did not want to start but if I kind of feathered it it was ok.
Has anyone had somthing like this happen to them? I will let you know the only electric mod I have done was wire some Hella 500 with a seperate switch to the high beams so I dont think it could be related to a crappy wire job by yours truly.
It feals like the ignition could be faulty but I could not find anythig on this being a common problem?
thanks!

something similar , i also got in turnd the key and nothing, just a few clicks from the starter thinking the same as you "dead battery" tried going from p to n and back to p then it started? BUT on my way to work the 2 front windows wouldnt go down and the 2 back worked fine? got to work checked the connections=ok got in after work and they work fine

im thinking it got pissed that i put reg unl gas in instead of the plus
sorry but to answer your question , sometimes the park safty switch might not get inguaged. mostlikely when you got out or back in the jeep it fully inguaged ?

I get something similar about once a week that the dealer cannot diagnose because it won't happen while in their custody. I put the key in, turn it...it tries for a split second to start but I am convinced the TPM blocks it. I usually wait a minute, lock/unlock the doors with the fob, etc...and it starts right up no problem. I have not been able to figure out any pattern either...it has happened on both hot and cold days, in the morning on a cold engine, or while out running errands. I'm getting pretty pissed about it.
