OK, I'm a fan of the MyGIG, but the continuing NAV issue is getting old.

Background:
Bought the Jeep late summer '07
wasn't seeing satelites
dealer installed new antenna - worked great!

until recently...

not seeing satelites again!
Dealer replaced antenna again!
still not seeing satelites...

I assume I need to have the dealer replace the entire unit!!!???!!!

HELP!

 

I have been having the same problems...I took out my radio and checked the NAV antenna and it started to pick up sats again. I think the antenna itself is the problem and not the MyGig.

in that order (for replacement...)

 

how many antennas are there for this thing ? where are they located on the jk

 

I was having navigation problems too. The unit was only picking up one or two satellites. I took it in to the dealership and they called the chrysler hotline and was told that the wire going from the antenna to the unit should be replaced. They said it had something to do with the ohms/resistance of the wire. The dealership ordered a new wire and now the nav systems sees 6 to 8 satellites whenever I check it. By the way, I bought mine in the fall of 2007 so Chrysler could have received a bad batch of wires around that time.

I too am a fan of my MYGig but I am on my third unit. The first had the hard drive fail, second was a nav issue, and the third had to have the antenna replaced due to not reading the satellites!!! The dealer will only give refurbished models but I'll push for a new one if it goes again!! Good luck!
