Default No power to trailer..

Is ther any other spot I need to check on the "tow package" I hooked up my trailer and I'm not getting power at the plug at the rear of the Jeep. I checked the connecter inside the left rear fender(no power). I replaced the 3 fuses that had anything to do with towing and trailer(3 of them that I could see) and I'm still not getting power at the plug. Is it somethingthat I have to take to the dealer and have them tell the computer that it needs to turn on the power? It appears to have the mopar tow package but the fuse block was missing 2 of the fuses for the towing slots M7 and m14.

the standard 4 pin plug that comes with the tow package doesn't have a power wire into it.

You would need to run power from a power source in the Jeep to the back and re-wire the plug.

EDIT:

Or do you mean you're not getting the lights to show up on the trailer? That would then be a different issue.

So are you needing 12v power at the plug or just not getting the lights to work.

Yeah the lights dont show up un the trailer. So if there is not supposed to be power at the Jeep's 4 pin, I'm pretty suspect of the trailer's 4 pin set up. I'll have to dig in further. I know the lights work because I supplied 12 volts to them at the connecter and they came on...

alright tested the trailer lights...they work just not with my Jeep. I hook it up step on the brakes...nothin, turn the hazards on...nothing. I figured with the lights on and someone steping on the brakes I should get some voltage at the plug..nothing. The fuses are all still good

I don't have the factory tow package. I ordered the wiring harness so i'm not sure if they are exactly the same. Assuming that they are...

If the lights are working on the jeep then the problem has to be in the wiring. You can access the harness by taking off the left tail light. The wires you have to chase aren't very long.

I hope this helps.

pull off the drivers side tail light. i know on aftermarket wiring kits the power supply comes out of there. See if there is a connection issue there.

I need the big old Homer Simpson DOH! smilie....
At first when I popped the left taillight out, I looked in and saw everythimg was connected and I wasn't getting power to the trailer plug. I thought to myself...must be somewhere else...
Well today I decide to check into it again....I must have stared at it for like five minutes and then it hit me....the left turn signal plug and the trailer wiring harness plug are the same..I swaped them and viola! I have trailer lights. Looking at it now I'm kicking myself for not noticing that the trailer wiring harnass plugs were just looped to each other..
