No sound from factory stereo

No sound from factory stereo
Don't know if this has happened to anyone before but I was out doing some christmas shopping and when i finished and headed back to my jeep , no sound would come from my stereo. I have the basic factory head unit, single disc MP3 and thats it. It was working fine earlier today.
It's wierd cuz i checked the radio/amp fuse and it was ok, the radio turns on, if you turn it to cd you can hear the disc spinning, but no matter how high the volume is, you don't even get a hum from the speakers.
If anyone can help me here it would be awesome. Otherwise, back to the stealership for me.
