One of my KC slimlights is dim???
I just noticed that my drivers side KC 130W slimlight is very dim. What would cause just one of the lights to go dim??? Would it be a bad bulb or some sort of wiring problem??? I've had these lights on for about a year and the bulb went dim just recently. Any suggestions would be most helpful. I'm a bit retarded when it comes to electrical problems.
Thanks guys, Gary |
i would go over all of your connections and check your ground wiring to make sure it is all still tight on there. also if your connections are not taped, (red and black wires close to lights) i would tape those and put the black conduit on them to prevent them from getting weathered, which shouldn't happen anyway but it's a good precaution. i couldn't think of anything else besides that or the bulb, good luck let us know what you find b/c i'm running the same lights.

Thanks guys, Gary LOL seriously though Gary disconnect the dim one and meter it. Then do the passenger side. Another thing to do after you have checked all connections...switch them. Right on left left on right and see if the passenger one dims too. Then you will KNOW there is something up with the wiring and not the bulb itself. Todd |

Man that sucks. Medicinal Weed for you if you lived in Canada ;)

Legal weed......that's almost worth being Canadian! Hey, I think the bulb is on it's last leg. I pulled my covers off and took a closer look at the bulb itself and it is all brown and milky looking. Also, after you have the light on for a minute or so, when you turn it off the bulb glows orange for a long time. Weird. I still can't figure out why it got all dim and shitty and didn't just blow???? Oh well, I guess I'll order a new bulb tonight. |
