Default Polk Audio speaker, crossover question

Why would I have to use the crossover when I can use the existing wires? I'm not using a amp. Thanks.

Use the provided aftermarket crossover. It was built specifically for the speaker (tweeter) it came with. The crossover for the factory system is contained on the back of the factory tweeter.

How to wire: The crossover has an Input or Source or Stereo connection. That goes to the Head Unit or Amp. There should be two speaker outputs. One for the Woofer. One for the tweeter. Once you mount the crossover up under the footwell or someplace, get a few short pieces of speaker wire and connect from the crossover to the Tweeter and Woofer.
