I installed the KC Slimlines and the switch that comes with it works fine. THe lights light up and everything works. WHen I connect the switches to the switch that comes with the a pillar mount, I blow the 3 amp fuse. The switches didnt come with a wiring diagram. There are only 9 combinations the green, brown, and white wire can go. WTF!!!

ALso, the instructions say I am to retain the stock clips from the OEM a pillar cover. The RR A Pillar Switch panel has a location for two clips, the problem is that the OEM cover only has 1.

What is the difference between the Load and the +. Is the "-" the ground? Please be patient, im an electrical idiot!

 

I had the same problem and went thru about three fuses before I got it right! Wish I had a pic! If u need I can try to get one after work. I don't have the hellas hooked up to it but I do have the kc lights hooked up to it.

 

Open your rear gate and snap off the black panel on the inside of the gate and remove on clip from there to use on the pillar. That is what the instruction that came with my pillar said to do. Worked great.

 

No worries...

+ = a fused positive power source

- = ground

Load = relay or light (whatever it is you are trying to turn on/off)


You don't "have to" hook up the ground but this is what will let the LED light work when you turn switch on.

Now I have been to 4 stores and cant find a 3amp fuse. What are your thoughts on using a 5 amp fuse? Too dangerous?

 

This falls under my own personal stupidy. I missed that. Only read up to the part where there should have been info on the wiring. I noticed the missing clip and added it to the overall gripe too soon.

Really? I found my 3 amp at the pepboys near me! And since the jeep was sorta in pieces that day I had to take the wife's Honda too find em!

 

Find a 3A fuse...do not put in a higher rated fuse!!
