Is it ok to run the lights with the plastic covers on them or will they melt? I've got some mounted and didn't know if they were just looks and some protection or if you could leave them on. I know you'll lose some light quality but I tried it for a short time last night and even with them on it's a huge difference over the pitiful excuse for headlights that came in my jeep.

 

Nope its perfectly fine to run them with the plastic stone guards on. I always have the covers on while the are on offroading.

But on the street they are covered with vinyl covers since I got pulled over.

 

did you get a ticket? and if so how much was it?

 

Not to pick on FunN4Lo but he looks like he's 14 and he's got a bad a$$ Jk! I have the same lights and have had no issues with tickets. I think the coppers were pickin on him!!!!!

 

You got pulled over for that? I assume they weren't even on???

 

Hey! I resent that. Haha. That's exactly what they were doing. Pickin on the kid with the modded jeep. And no the lights weren't on. It was broad daylight out. But no it was just a fix it ticket. I was surprised he didn't get me for tinted windows, no mud flaps, and oversized tires not being cover by the flares.
