My radio in my Liberty quit on the way from Ohio to Fla. a couple years ago. Checked the fuse and it was ok but no sound. It went on and off intermittantly while on vacation.

When I got home I found a stock radio / cd / cassette player on Ebay. The next day it did the same thing.

It turned out being the speaker in the drivers door was shorting out. Neither radio was damaged but it did kill the radio when it was plugged in. I bought new speakers at Best Buy and never had another problem.

I don't know if this is your problem but it's easy to check buy unplugging the speakers on the back of the radio and see if it comes back on. Good luck.

My 3 year-old stuck a few quarters in my CD slot when I wasn't looking. Shorted out the radio (ruined it) and kept draining my battery. Dealer found it when I took it in to be fixed under warranty. Apparently the warranty doesn't cover 3 year-olds.

That probably doesn't help you, but it's a great story.
