Rear/Back up camera suggestions

I saw the thread on the Superchip TrailDash and I like that concept. I like the idea of the back up camera. I think I would buy one of these even if it didn't do performance tuning. The one problem I see is the back up camera that is mounted to the license plate. Can you still see around the spare with that mounting? I would also like to see the hitch for hooking up to the trailer.

So this brings me to the main question; I am looking for a back up camera so I can see the hitch and what is behind me and the screen to be mounted in the rear view mirror. Anyone have a set up they would recommend?

This setup has worked very well for me. My camera is mounted to the license plate bracket but you could mount it anywhere. Very high quality wide angle image day or night. Display easily mounts to rear view mirror and works great. I wired it directly to my sPod.

Spare Tire, Center Hub. Pop it out, buy keyhole back up camera, under $15, drill hole in Center Hub, run wires thru Loom already there from 3rd brake light. Hard to detect the camera and no blockage of view and is centered.

Stock backup camera

Any cons to getting a dealer to install a Jeep backup camera and wire it in for you? I've seen some good results from people putting them in the bumper under the spare tire... I was thinking about going that route.

The only con would be cost of the dealer doing the install. But you can go cheap and buy a mini LCD and backup camera for under $100 total.
Backup camera, Amazon.com: Waterproof Car Rear Vehicle Backup View Camera High-definition Cmos 170 Degree Viewing Angle E363: Car Electronics
And LCD, Amazon.com: 4.3'' Color TFT Car Monitor Support 480 x 272 Resolution + Car/Automobile Rear-view System Mirror Display Monitor: Car Electronics

I have the LCD and a diffent camera I got off eBay. Just waiting on some warmer weather to do the install.

Wranglers don't have the Camera option or a Mopar Camera for the Wrangler. So your dealer will install a universal one? Then I would prob do as DarkSide said. Kinda Risky to get dealer to install something that isn't standard for them...LOL

IDK. The dealer would be my first choice to have anything installed. They have the tools and the first hand experience with the vehicle to do an excillent job. The only problems I see with this is: 1) Will they agree to do the job. And 2) Can you afford to pay them to do the job.

I custom mad the houseing around the camera to protect it. It's "bore sighted" with the hitch. Hooking up is a breeze.
