Default Remote start

First off I have searched and searched but could not find what I am looking for.

I have 2012 sport manual with no power locks or windows. No security system. Just the basics.

Is there a remote start system I can get that is aftermarket? If so what is the best one to get? Not needing alarm just remote start. Does best

Compustar is best in my eyes, and u have the decision to make it either an alarm/start, starter or just an alarm.

Thanks any idea how hard is install?
Or should I have a shop do it?

I have done my own Audio system as well as bumpers winch and so on. But have never tried alarm or mainly remote start. Especially on a manual transmission.

Can the factory remote start not be installed on your Jeep? I have it installed on my Rubi and it is obviously an after thought. It's not anywhere on the original paperwork and the wires are visible, zip-tied to the outside of the wiring loom.

Compustar is great and viper is great as well. Remote start systems are difficult to install. I worked at Best Buy for 10 years as a lead installer. Remote starts are a whole different ball game than audio. You need programmers now to flash modules for remote starts to integrate with computers. I recommend Best Buy as they have a lifetime guarantee on their work.

I am not sure. I go in today for first service oil change. Free for life. So might as well let them do it and hope of any issues with warranty they will have no issues handling without problems like some dealers.
So any ways. I will ask them about the factory option but not for install as I am sure they will charge arm and leg

You can't get remote start on new M/T Wranglers. There's nothing to stop every dealer from doing the install later.

I don't believe any manufacturer offers a remote start with m/t from the factory as it is very dangerous. There are several shops that will install on m/t, but also several that will not. Reason it is so dangerous is because a lot of m/t drivers like to park with the trans in gear. Then hit the remote start and their vehicle is now in the house, garage, other car or even worse a person. I believe there are also some places it is not legal to have a remote start on a m/t. Make sure to check local laws as well.

Yeah wasn't sure or worried bout dealer install when new as its too late for me. Other than having them do it now. But was most likely thing it would have to be aftermarket. Not sure about wrangler and especially. Mine being its bone stock no power anything. But I do know they have come along way in making remote starts for m/t. And being that when u press the key fob if the sensor senses it is in gear. Then u get nothing. Idk. Guess will find out. But thinking bout looking into compustar and calling it a day.
Thanks all for the info. I appreciate it.

Well just found out from dealer it's almost $800 installed for factory remote start.
Think I will go another route!
