I am an installer for Futureshop (same company as best buy) and I agree that a shop like bestbuy in the states is the best way to go. Although I know a lot of shops will not install a starter/alarm combo in jeeps with a manual tranny and soft top just because if you remote start it with the top off someone could jump in and jam it into gear and leave with your ride! We put a hood pin in the rear so that when the top is down the vehicle will not remote start.
As for it being manual transmission and having a bypass that will sense if it is in gear, I have never heard of such a thing nor would that be possible from my understanding? I could be wrong but I have never seen it.
It can be an easy install but without having the proper means to flash a bypass and have constant tech support your better off at a shop

Thanks for the info. Yeah I was thinking to just go to best buy and see what they can do. It's basically across the street!
Plus they carry viper. Compustar and avital. From what they said earlier.

Best Buy will do remote starts on m/t. Viper alarms are set up to not start while the vehicle is in gear. There is a sequence of events you have to go through before you exit your vehicle to allow the remote start to work. They have made it impossible (if correctly installed) for a vehicle to start while in gear.
