cablejive.com/iphone_3g_charge_converter.html

Get one and plug it inline between the Jeep and your iPhone, it will allow you to charge your iPhone 3G while you play music. If you have an older iPhone then you don't need to worry about this.

Awesome find! Been looking for something like that just in case.

I have a 2G iPhone so I don't think I'll have an issue.

That is what I wanted to hear - one last piece of clarification. With your iPhone 3G - were you able to select songs on the iPhone while plugged in / charging? Or were you only able to select songs through the Dash?

I have the 6 Disc changer and I am ready to go and buy the uConnect module pieces so I can charge / play my iPhone and I want to mount it next to the radio with a Bracketron bracket - but no one has been able to clarify if I can control my iPhone through the iPhone while plugged in.

Thank you!

My uconnect won't work dealership can't get the star scan to be accepted to the jeep. Does the system have to be activated for the IPOD portion to work? Should it be activated first then add the IPOD cable? Trying to trouble shoot. What are the odds of having a bad uconnect kit? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it has to be activated for the iPod to work. I installed all of mine at once, then took it to the dealership to be activated. They had an issue with mine, took a couple of tries, but it finally took. Sounds like someone is doing something wrong or missing a step in the process.

Thanks, I think I'm going to uninstall and re-install at the dealer with them watching me. They were trying to blame the problem on me. It's really a simple install, one of the tech's was on my side. He thought it might be on their end, but the service rep. wasn't having any of that!
