Ridged D2: Wide pattern vs Driving pattern
 

I am getting ready to purchase a set of Dually D2's for my A Pillars and can't decide what pattern to purchase. Currently I have a set of Truck Lite second generation LED's for my headlights, PIAA 520 Drivers on my bumper and Tantrum LED rock lights. My night time driving when I need additional lighting consists of slow rock crawling, and driving medium speeds on forest service roads on my way to hunting spots.
I like the idea of having some decent side lighting, so was thinking my PIAA lights should be angled off to the sides, and the D2's facing straight ahead. Haven said that, what pattern should my D2's be? I'm not interested in lighting up the road 300 yards in front, but more so an overall wide illumination from left to right out to 150 yards or so.
What pattern are you all using, and what would you suggest?

Driving for sure I'm running d2s in my bumper and on pillar both are driving beam and I love them:)

I originally bought D2 driving beams for my fogs. Worked awesome, but actually too bright. Switched them to my pillars and bought Dually spots for my fogs. Perfect combination IMO.

Why do you call them fogs? Driving, spot and fog have different patterns. The first two don't work as fogs.

I have the D2 driving on the windshield, they are angled out a little and work exactly as you are looking for. Perfect for logging roads and such, where you need a nice spread out to the sides to see turns before you make them and to help out front, just not nearly as far down the road as your 520s.

On my bros we did the spot on the windshield and are going to do the floods on bumper. Reason for this is A: didnt want flood shining all over hood and blinding him when driving and since already higher why not use to height angle advantage for the spots and then floods on bumper cause its closer to ground which you are trying to flood anyways right?

I dont know if the tabs really make all the difference or not, but I have the smittybuilt (down and away), and I have very little hood light.

I have a setup that works perfect for me. 2 D2 Driving and an E Series 4" Spot in the middle.
