Default Sirius Antenna Question

I was hoping somebody could tell me where I could find the Sirius antenna. My reception is poor and I'd like to re-allign it. Tree-lined streets are enough to break the reception. I compare this to the XM I have had for years in my other Jeep and have never had a problem. The dealership says it is normal. I don't know how Sirius could have lasted so long if this is normal.

You may have a bad antenna, but it should be on top of the rollbar by the soundbar under your top. Yes it will work thru the soft or hard top.

Thanks brother. I found it. I think I will wait until this weekend when the top comes off to check it out.

it will not work if you put carpet on your hardtop. I had to add one on the hood but Sirius does suck compared to xm as far as trees and other obstructions. Very displeased with it ..good thing its free.

My XM works fine with the hard top on. I have the antenna in the same place the Sirius antenna would be.

The GPS antenna is installed in the same spot and also works with no problems.

Default Don't laugh

The dealership told me the difference between the XM reception and the Sirius reception was due to the fact that XM actually uses cell towers to transmit, whereas Sirius come directly from the satellite. Now I have no idea how true that statement is, but my XM hardly ever cuts out, while the sirius is quite frequently.

so how can trees block the signal if your ROOF cant?
the signal is electromagnetic... similar to sound in this case;

Sound goes easily through thin, hard material (hard top, soft top).

Sound does not go through thick soft stuff (pillow, your hand)...

go learn something

wikipedia... how stuff works.com, etc...

Default Sirius Antenna

my JK didn't come with sirius so i found a factory one on ebay with sirius and instead of paying $150 from mopar for an antenna i found this one http://www.satelliteradioexperts.com...a_p_26-94.html plugs right into the back of the radio and i mounted it in the factory location on top of the roll bar and does not cut out on tree lined streets i can even pull under the carport sometimes and it stays playing
