Default Sirius and underpasses

About every other underpass causes my Sirius to cut out. I have never had it before and have heard that it blips out now and then but mine seems way to frequent. Every other is too much, isn't it? I hope

it's satellite. you need a direct line of sight to the sky. GPS units have the same problems unless it has the dead reckoning feature. Satellite TV is the same way during bad weather. I'm sure Sirius has ground repeaters, but there's still lots of interferences that can cause cutouts.

That sucks. I was hoping for my unit to be faulty. I could take it happening once in a while, but my ride home is hwy and in the 30-40 minute drive it happens 10 or so times.

Why don't they use a buffer? You would think that they would realize signal would be momentarily blocked while driving.

they do have a buffer, but sometimes it's not good enough.

Mine cuts out everytime I pass through a specific toll booth going 30-40. Buffer is way too short.

Same happens to me but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I refuse to listen to FM anymore.

I agree that a short buffer is not enough. It seems that it cuts out way to much for me. It's always a great song that it cuts out on. I wish it would just cut out Madison on Alt Nation.....

You guys are just talking about overpasses but for me it happens mostly with trees on the side of the road. I have noticed that even a small amount of tree coverage seems to interfere. I wish that they had at least put the antenna on the drivers side of the car.
