Sorry, 2011 Nav question
I Apologize as I'm sure this topic has been visited a hundred times. I have searched countless threads and have had no luck finding the following:
I would like to upgrade my 2011 JKU sport radio (130 RES) to a 430 or 720 Nav unit.
1) What stock systems are compatible with a 2011 for direct plug and play? Mygig RHR only?
2) Will the Bluetooth, uconnect, and steering wheel controls all work if I upgrade to a stock Nav system?
3) Lastly, I've read that mygigs lock when theyre removed from the original vehicle. Is this true, and if so how could I unlock one to put in mine?
I've never installed a stereo and would really just like to get one from a jeep that I can plug into my current jeep and it work with no problems. If anyone has one that will plug and play in a 2011 jku I'll buy it!!!
My jeep:
2011 JKU
Uconnect package
Stock 130 RES
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Have a look at quadratec.com. They have a number of aftermarket nav units that are compatable with the JK and are direct plug in. I looked at a number of the Pioneer and Kenwood units that offer all the functions of stock Nav units before I got a deal on my JK that had it stock. Now i just have to unlock it for mobile DVD........
The RHR and RHB are both compatible. The major difference for your needs is that the RHR has a built in UConnect Module, so you want to disconnect the installed UConnect that you have and you'll need a Microphone adapter for the UConnect to work. The RHB, does not have a built in UConnect Module, so you will want to plug your UConnect module in. So the RHB will be more plug and play, since you already have a UConnect module.
2) Will the Bluetooth, uconnect, and steering wheel controls all work if I upgrade to a stock Nav system?
Yes, Bluetooth and steering controls will all work, but you will need to pay attention to the Uconnect portions I listed above.
3) Lastly, I've read that mygigs lock when theyre removed from the original vehicle. Is this true, and if so how could I unlock one to put in mine?
I believe the ones that lock are non North American versions. So make sure you get the correct N.A. MyGig...it should be N.A. based on the U.S. maps.

The RHB will be the most plug and play for you, since you already have a UConnect Module, although the RHR is the better unit. With either one, you will still need to additionally buy the appropriate GPS antennas.
